Trevor Tyler
Trevor Tyler credits his success as the general manager of Eureka! Gourmet Burgers & Craft Beer in San Luis Obispo to the curriculum The Collins College of Hospitality Management offers and to learning the importance of networking as a student.
“I made connections with the owners of Eureka! Burger by being a frequent visitor and sharing my love for craft beer and gourmet food with them,” says the 2009 graduate.
Making connections early in college is key, says Michael Godfrey, associate dean at The Collins College and the professor who most influenced Tyler’s passion for the craft beer industry through his Beer and Cultures class. After having taught thousands of students over the years, Godfrey remembers Tyler well.
“Trevor is clearly a hospitality student,” says Godfrey. “He is outgoing, full of energy, projects well, speaks well, but is casual and laidback in his approach – and it shows in his restaurant.”
Eureka! is a young company that prides itself on its all-American gourmet dishes and impressive craft beer collection. The Collins College is proudly the company’s No. 1 source of recruitment for managers like Tyler.
